Load items from a Result Set
The Hierarchy Reloader is a tool which allows you to create or update a hierarchy from a calculated Result Set. The loading process includes the following steps:
- In the Result Sets Explorer, double-click on the Result Set Run you want to load. In the Output pane, select Hierarchy Reloader and a wizard will be displayed.
- On the first screen, read the instructions and click on Next. You can cancel the loading at any time by clicking on the Cancel button on any of the screens.
- The Template Management screen is used to create and edit settings templates (see Create a Hierarchy Reloader settings template). To open the template management menu, click on the arrow button in the Advanced section. If you have selected a template in the Settings Template section, then the Edit Template option will be displayed as the menu title by default. The table below describes the menu items.
Option | Function |
---|---|
New Template | Creates a new template. |
Edit Template | Opens the selected template for editing. |
Rename Template | Opens a dialog where you can enter a new name for the selected template. |
Save Template As | Saves a copy of the currently selected template under a different name. |
Delete Template | Deletes the currently selected template. |
Import Template | Opens a window where you can import templates from a file. |
Export Template | Opens a window where you can export templates into a file. |
- If you want to load data into a different database, connect to it in the Destination Database section.
- The Destination Consolidation Node screen contains tabs where you can select files to load, and a set of menus to specify import settings (for details, see The Hierarchy Reloader Settings screen). Each tab corresponds to an import batch; batches are processed in their entirety before the Reloader moves to the next batch. Batches are used to load files from several locations at once, or to load the same set of files with different settings. Batch management buttons are described in the table below; the same functions are available in the context menu if you right-click on a batch.
Button | Description |
---|---|
|
Creates a new batch. |
|
Renames the selected batch. |
|
Deletes the selected batch. |
|
Moves the selected batch to the left. |
|
Moves the selected batch to the right. |
Note: The order of tabs is important when importing the same projects with different settings; the import begins with projects selected on the leftmost tab and proceeds from left to right, so the correct order of tabs must be set up.
- You can save the import settings for reuse (see the Save import settings section below).
- Select projects to import and import settings (see The Hierarchy Reloader Settings screen) and click on Next.
- The Pre-Import Confirmation screen displays settings that will be used to load the data. To make changes, click on the Back button to return to the previous screens.
- When the data loading begins, the progress bar will be displayed. You can stop the import at any time by pressing the Cancel Loading button. However, this will only prevent the import from proceeding further and will not undo the changes that have already been made.
- When the "Process completed" message is displayed, click on the Next button to proceed.
- On the last screen, you can view the log file if the import finished with warnings or errors. To close the wizard and return to the Application Window, click on the Finish button. To run the Loader again, click on the Return to Start button.
Save import settings
You can save the import settings to speed up the process if you import data several times with the same settings. To open a particular set of settings, select it from the list in the Batch import settings field. Next to this field is the menu with settings management options. You can also export and import settings to use them with different databases.

Rename Settings | Renames the selected set of settings. |
Delete Settings | Deletes the selected set of settings. |
